Softball at Borlase
Last year, the PE department started implementing softball into the curriculum. Since then there have been many people
throughout year 9 and 10 who have enjoyed the taster sessions enough to join their year group team. Our year 9 and 10
teams are open to boys and girls of all abilities, we receive specialist coaching from Maidenhead softball club head coach
Alan Le Marquand and up to date equipment for excellent training.
We have had some excellent results being undefeated in both year 9 and 10, with emphatic victories over Great Marlow
and Chesham Grammar. We also have many future fixtures coming up soon enough.
Recently the year 9’s competed in the Bucks school games! They came up against very strong sides such as Buckingham,
Burnham and Grange in which they come 5/5 games and won the league. They played their hearts out, won the tournament
and in the process were named county champions!
Sir William Borlase have significant links with Maidenhead softball club, offering half price membership for a season,
Maidenhead is a friendly reliable club with excellent players and they offer almost weekly games for both division one and
division two teams, so visit soon!
