Players speaking about how it feels to represent their
country. Next on stage was GB Womens’ Physio Emma
Batchelor explaining what went on behind the scenes
at London 2012. Frances Block, the only British female
umpire to officiate at the 2012 Olympics then entertained
the audience with anecdotes from life umpiring at the
highest level. Finally Alex Danson brought the audience
almost to tears as she shared the emotions of her journey
to winning Bronze.
End of Season celebrations took place at Borlase’s home
pitch, Marlow Sports Club, Pound Lane, just before the
Easter Holidays. At least 160 children came down to the
Club and enjoyed fun games and a barbecue. It was a
fabulous way to end a highly successful season both on
and off the pitch.
