U12 Girls’ Hockey B team
Wow, what an amazing season we had this year! We started as an inexperienced group of people who had never met,
and transformed into an amazing U12 B team. At the start of the year, we went straight into our first fixture, with hardly
any practice done; this meant we, unfortunately, lost. It was the same story for many of our first matches, but soon,
we passed this phase. At this point, our team was beginning to understand the best ways to get the ball, and most
importantly, to win! Most of the time now, we were either drawing or narrowly losing. As we came up to the end of the
season, we had really got the knack of hockey as a whole, and were winning some of our games. But more importantly,
we had become great friends, and had a team spirit to keep on going, stronger than I have ever experienced.

U13 Girls’ Hockey
This season as a whole has been great. With training sessions most Mondays (excluding the ones when it snowed
heavily!) and everyone working extra hard, our team improved with great skill. Having played a lot as a team (both the As
and the Bs) we were all very confident playing with each other and even with new people joining, everyone was playing
at their very best. Our county rounds helped us improve and proved to us that if we don’t quite make it, we just have to
keep our heads up and try and find out how to improve for next season. Thank you so much to Melike Gerrits, Amelia
Barclay, Georgia Keys, Charlie Harris, Mila Welch, Ella Beales and Tiger Droney (all Year 7) for stepping up and playing in
the county competition in our teams!
With all the people in our squad progressingmore andmore after each session, we have had a number of people getting
into the Buckinghamshire Junior Academy:
 Anya Swales (U13)
 Jess Minshull-Beech (U13)
 Josie Nash (U13)
 Alex Lane (U13)
 Mary-Anne Grego (U14)
Also a big congratulation to Jess Minshull-Beech for getting selected for the Junior Regional Performance Centre at U15
which is a big achievement and we are all very proud of her and hope she gets far.
I would like to thank Miss Hewitt, Mr Irving, Megan Jones and everyone who helped out with coaching or umpiring for
us this season. I think that it is thanks to the support and excellent coaches that has helped us to improve so greatly this
season. I hope you have all enjoyed this season like I have. We all mixed very well as a team, bringing us closer together
which I am sure will benefit in the future.
